I am 52 years old and this is my story on how CrossFit changed my life. In January of 2013, I was very out of shape so I joined a gym hoping to lose weight and get fit.  At the time, I weighed 205 pounds, had high blood pressure, had a waist of 41” and my hips were 40”.

As soon as I joined, I started to workout with Trevor and he slowly introduced me to CrossFit.  As I started to progress over the next 9 months, I found myself going from typical long slow cardio for weight loss to short intense workouts.  Everyday was a learning adventure. I was exposed to exercise movements such as: Olympic lifting, power lifting, burpees, pull ups, push ups, running, jumping, rowing, jump roping, and even throwing a ball up at wall reaching as high as 10 feet!

The lifts are fun and I enjoyed the change in pace with all the workouts.  I love how CrossFit is scalable. I enjoyed having different options with weight amount, reps, etc.  This allowed me to feel like I didn’t have to keep up with the rest of the group.  I was able to scale all movements to what I could handle at the current time.

I have been at this for a year now and it is really addicting! HA! I currently workout consistently 5 to 6 days per week with a great group of people, we all push and support each other as we get through these challenging workouts! Besides, I can’t complain because I have had great results!  My current weight is 170 pounds, blood pressure is normal, my waist is 34”, hips are 40”, and my body fat is now 12 percent!  All because I made a commitment to myself and I wanted to change my life.

Trevor is a great coach he takes it slow with all his clients.  He will push you when needed but never makes you feel out of place.
